Green Rough Oak Lumber 

What do you do when you need a species of wood that will deliver more muscle than the wood you can find at your typical chain lumberyard?

Rough green oak is strong, it is economical, it is sawn ‘full size (meaning an 2X12 board is really two inches thick as well as twelve inches wide). Lets also recognize what it is not.  

Rough green oak is not the right species to consider for furniture, moulding, cabinetry, or anything that you might want to use inside your home. Rough green oak is not beautiful, it is not smooth, and it is not an ideal lumber to use in household construction.
